Hope Dental Centre, Rwanda

Hope Dental Centre, functionally split into three zones of dental care – clinic, institute, and warehouse were planned on a linear site sloping down overlooking the city of Rwanda. Hence, the building is envisioned as a conversation between nature, the urban fabric, and the visitors. The dialogue is strengthened through its functional and in-between spaces revealing the picturesque views at points and hiding at others. This project is an attempt to embrace the breathtaking setting, while the built always maintains a slight contrast.

Several materials present in the project are employed to form a cultural connection with the visitors. The traditional imigongo painting technique dots the entire inner facade with the holy cross at the center.
